A good side movie not intented to replace the originalVerified buy
A fresh have on the motion picture.
E'er leery when they do a reboot of a classic and RHPS is a big archetype to try. Filling some of the shoes from the original plays and movies was hard but they did find some good actors to try.
I'm viewing the movie as a Shadow Cast become thrust into the movie itself and get a take chances to act it out like they did in front of the screen. Ryan McCartan's Brad seems to prove my betoken as he overacts some scenes really bad that it is good while Victoria Justice (Janet) is just right overacting. For those who don't know, a Shadow Cast re-enacts the picture in front of the screen while it's being played. You can get some memorable performances by some of them.
I actually enjoyed Reeve Carney every bit Riff Raff and Staz Nair'south Rocky seemed more fitting than the original. Laverne Cox'south casting was questionable to some for various reason simply her vocal range on the songs and little tweaks to points in them added to her operation. The only low points, for me, were Adam Lambert as Eddie (needed someone a fleck stronger in that function) and Ben Vereen'due south Dr. Scott. Both hammed it upwards too much and took away from the characters.
The best part was Ivy Levan'due south Usherette and opening to the movie. It kept to what Richard O'Brien wanted to have the original open with but couldn't. Her voice and stroll forth the style with the movie posters of the old B-movies mention in the song in the groundwork were bang-up to run across. Tim Back-scratch's appearance as the Narrator was nice and wish he was capable of doing a fleck more but beingness limited since his stroke. His caretaker stole his scenes at times peculiarly during the Time Warp.

Worst remake ever committedVerified purchase
The original had a cutting border to it that is hard to be duplicated, but a few phase productions have done exactly that. This REMAKE does non, casting Tim Back-scratch every bit the criminologist is downwards right lamentable every bit his health has declined terribly and is obvious in this motion-picture show. The acting is technically well done, but the edginess that fabricated information technology a cult classic is gone. I haven't been able to picket 30 minutes of it, and that's afterward 2 tries. I wish I could get my money back from this one.
And despite the producers insistence that information technology'due south 're-imagined,' information technology's a give-and-take for word attempt to remake the original. Nothing to run across hither, save your money and move along...

Yes, it's not the original. Cipher and no i will e'er supercede the original bandage from 1976. But, the actors are slap-up and it's presented in a slightly different way, with the usherette singing Scientific discipline Fiction Double Characteristic, and an awesome cast - I mean Laverne Cox and Adam Lambert❣❓⁉️
I own it and recently watched it and the original back to back, and enjoyed them both. A fun romp for sure!!

I am lamentable merely information technology was merely all wrong. Had I not seen the original and loved it mayhap this would have stood a chance to go along me entertained but I uncertainty information technology. Bluntly speaking it seemed extremely depression budget and the actors did not exercise the characters justice. Couldn't stop this flick and I'm disappointed because I did want to honey it beingness that this my favorite moving picture growing upward.

Typically with a remake something is interesting or genuinely unlike which I find that I can appreciate - not then much with this one. Although I was thrilled to see Tim Curry the music and acting did non live up to the original IMO.

Afterwards reading all the bad reviews I was ready to be disappointed. Don't expect it to be the same as the original because it is a completely different motion-picture show. My biggest complaint was casting for Magenta. She was horrible. Columbia was much meliorate than the original.

This movie is a bit odd in that it's not a straight up remake simply it's too not an original rendition. RHPS: Let'due south Practice the Fourth dimension Warp Again includes several nods and callbacks to the original picture. Despite that however information technology is very different and is able to stand up on its own. The way I see it, this moving picture is a love letter of the alphabet to the original. It celebrates the parts that we've all come up to love, but also updates the things that needed updating. The comedy isn't played up as much, merely the characters are more than adult. Considering much of the subject affair is no longer taboo it'southward non as much of a risk as the original, but that doesn't stop information technology from going all out and presenting an entertaining story.
